Introducing Saint Leonard, guardian angel of the DLF hipster migration. He blesses every train from Charing Cross and every Airbnb with “sea views” but no parking. His holiest shrine is Norman Road where Heist bar poured craft beers into jam jars and declared salvation had arrived.
This print is equal parts satire and sainthood. A tongue-in-cheek tribute to the crowd that turned up with tote bags, vintage bikes and a burning desire to make St Leonard’s the new Margate.
For locals it is a reminder of what has been lost. For the down from London lot it is a halo for the halo effect they keep talking about.
